In the 2017, Illinois and Wisconsin joined the competition to create four state teams. The competition now has 12 teams that compete in four quad districts. In 2019, Florida, Colorado, Wisconsin and Missouri all advanced to the championship held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, August 17-18. Missouri defeated Florida 6-0 in a weather-shortened championship final to claim their third Shield title.
Mission The mission of States Shield is to get the sport of croquet in front of people and presented as it truly is. The concept is to become that one big event that every successful sport has.
Profits derived from the event are intended to be invested in court development in the participating states and cities. This addresses the critical hole that the sport can fill in bringing active, outdoor exercise and mental engagement to seniors, youth and anyone looking for a connection through sport. It is the best gender and age equal sport in the world. |
